Community voting for Essential Energy’s 2021 Community Choices program is now open.
There are six funding amounts available — ranging from $600 up to $2,500!
In Zone 8, Junee’s local Essential Energy area, there are a total 14 community groups nominated, including five organisations from Junee Shire;
- Gasworks Motorsport Incorporated (Illabo Motorsport Park)
- Junee – Regional Heritage Transport Assoc Junee Incorporated (commonly referred to as the Roundhouse Museum)
- Junee Business & Trades Incorporation (raising money for Christmas on Broadway)
- Junee Junior Netball Association (last year they came second in our zone AND overall)
- Riverina Working Equitation Incorporated (The first working equitation club in the Riverina, catering to all ages and abilities located Illabo)
There is a total funding pool of $8,500 for Zone 8, which will be allocated to the first six eligible participants in order of valid votes received from highest to lowest. The grant allocations will be:
- $2,500 for the group with the most votes in our zone;
- $2,000 for second;
- $1,500 for third;
- $1,000 for fourth;
- $900 for fifth; and
- $600 for sixth.
A further $5,000 will be allocated to the ‘Small Communities’ category which is reserved for groups located in areas with populations less than 20,000 people — which means Junee is eligible. Within this category there will be 10 funding allocations of $500 each with funding allocated to the top 10 Eligible Participants within the Small Communities category ranked in order of valid Votes received. This category will not be separated into zones, and groups who qualify for this category are also eligible to receive funding through the zone allocations if they are ranked in first six eligible participants.
Junee’s Success from 2020
Last year’s Community Choices program saw three Community Groups from Junee nominated: Junee Junior Netball Association, Rhythm n Rail Inc and Junee Golf Club Ltd.
Junee Junior Netball Association not only placed second in our local Zone, but also second over all in the entire network, with 2,772 votes! Thus been awarded $2,000 in much needed funding. Only four groups (out of over 250) that were nominated received more than 2,000 votes.
Vote Now!
Your daily votes will determine which groups receive grants and how much they could receive –- get your friends and family involved [ps: they do NOT have to live within Junee, nor the Essential Energy Zone — they just have a valid email address(es)] because the more votes received, the more money our local organisations could receive. Give a big heart in the Junee community a little boost and vote for one of our local groups that makes a difference in our community each day.
Hopefully, if we ALL vote EACH DAY, we can see ALL FIVE groups in Junee Shire receive funding — even $600 can make a huge difference to our local community!
You can vote each day.
Voting closes at 5pm on Monday May 31, 2021 (AEST).
Remember, Junee is in Zone 8 and to bookmark this link so you can quickly vote each day!.
