The Reducing Social Isolation for Seniors Grant Program is an initiative by the NSW Government to address social isolation for older people and to fund projects that address the challenges and barriers that contribute to social isolation.
Funding is available ranging from $10,000 to $60,000 for local government authorities and not-for-profit community organisations to design and implement 12-month programs that promote social inclusion and reduce seniors’ isolation and loneliness.
Grants available under the program are for organisations to create projects, programs and activities aimed at older people aged 65 years and over, or 50 years and over for Aboriginal people, who are socially isolated or at risk of isolation.
Successful projects focus on bringing older people together in person through small group activities where possible.
The program encourages projects, programs and activities that seek to actively engage new people, particularly harder-to-reach socially isolated older people.
Eligible projects, programs and activities will be assessed against four equally-weighted criteria:
- Relevance — the applicant must demonstrate that the program is relevant to the objectives of the grant program and the demonstrated needs of target groups in local communities
- Impact — the project will deliver tangible, positive and clearly articulated outcomes
- Implementation — the applicant has the appropriate skills and expertise to deliver the project on time and on budget
- Sustainability — how the project will continue to deliver ongoing opportunities for social connections for older people beyond the lifetime of the funding.

As always, we always strongly recommend that you check out the successful recipients from the previous round — there are some amazing projects in there that could easily be adapted for implementation within Junee Shire.
