Attention Regional NSW Community Groups,
Was your organisation involved in distributing food or personal care hampers to people in need, during COVID lockdowns?
Thanks to the NSW Government and Resilience NSW, groups that incurred expenses in delivering those hampers may be able to get some of the costs reimbursed through a new program being run by the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal.
The program intends to support NSW (only) eligible non-profit organisations, community groups, and associated volunteer-based groups that have incurred expenses in delivering food and personal care hampers to individuals and families affected by COVID-19 lockdowns, and to community groups that are likely to provide ongoing services to affected members of the community, building resilience within these communities to mitigate future pandemic events.
The program has two streams of the Reimbursement stream and Capacity Building Stream.
- Reimbursement Stream
Applications open from January 31, 2022 until March 1, 2022
Intends to support eligible not-for-profit organisations, community groups, and associated volunteer-based groups that have incurred expenses in delivering food and personal care hampers to individuals and families affected by COVID lockdowns. These grants provide a contribution that will enable organisations and groups to reimburse volunteer expenditure. The program will not fund individual volunteers directly. - Capacity Building Stream
Applications open March 29, 2022 and close April 28, 2022
A second stream, the Capacity Building Grants Stream, will open late March 2022 and be open to community groups that are likely to provide ongoing services to affected members of the community, building resilience within these communities to mitigate future pandemic events. NOTE: A separate set of program guidelines will be available when this stream opens.
Resilience NSW COVID Regional Community Support Program — Reimbursement Stream
Grants of up to $30,000 are available for community groups and not-for-profit organisations located in NSW outside of the Greater Sydney Metropolitan region who have been actively involved in the distribution of food/wellbeing hampers and expended own funding, staff/volunteer time or other resources.
Funds are available for contribution towards reimbursement of costs already incurred by community groups between 1 July 2021 to 31 January 2022 to support the distribution of food and personal care hampers.
This can include:
- Fuel and/or car running costs
- Delivery costs such as freight, couriers, or other paid transport costs to deliver hampers to individuals and families affected by COVID-19 lockdowns
If your organisation provided support in other ways (such as providing storage, logistics support, provision of PPE or other assistance), please contact FRRR to see if those costs are eligible for reimbursement.
