An additional $100 million will be available in Round 4 of the Fund, which opens on 1 May 2021. Up to $50 million of Round 4 funding will to go towards projects that deliver and enhance women’s sporting facilities, including change rooms. The remaining $50 million will meet the strong demand for other high-quality community and sports-related infrastructure projects.
Steph Cooke MP, the Member for Cootamundra, has reached out to local sporting groups, stating;
Women’s sport in the Cootamundra electorate and across Australia is very strong and it is only getting stronger, however for too long female athletes have not had access to the same level of facilities as their male counterparts.
The lack of quality facilities can be a barrier for women interested in playing community sport and this funding will deliver the facilities that help to promote participation in a wide range of sports.
The $50 million will be made available through the Stronger Country Communities Fund Round Four to meet the strong demand for further high quality community and sports-related infrastructure projects.

Previous Projects funded
Over the last three rounds of the Stronger Country Communities Fund, over a dozen different projects across Junee Shire have received funding totalling over $3 million, including;
- Amenities Upgrades and improved Playing Surfaces at the Junee Regional Sporting and Recreation Hub
- Refurbishment and enhancement at the Illabo Tennis Courts and Clubhouse
- Installation of Air Conditioning at the Athenium Theatre
- Various upgrades to the Junee Junction Recreation & Aquatic Centre
- Redevelopment of the Junee Tennis Club
- Revitalisation of Eurongilly Tennis Courts and Hall and establishment of Cricket Pitch
- Upgrades to Old Junee Hall, including solar power and playground
- Upgrades to the Tennis Courts and clubhouse at Wantabadery McDonald Memorial Hall
- Enhancements to the Junee Skate Park
- Establishment of the Junee Youth Employment Partnership Program
- Erection of the Junior Golf Building at Junee Golf Club
- Multipurpose Tennis Court and Cricket Project at Eurongilly
- Revitalisation of Junee Lions Paper shed
- Upgrade to the Pavillion at Illabo Showgrounds
