SALON is an initiative to build relationships between NSW artists and producers and presenters (venues): it is a small-scale, lo-fi conversation starter without the bells and whistles of a full-blown showcase.

Artists and Producers may apply to present a short pitch about their work at the event. There are also facilitated networking opportunities and you will hear from selected venues about their programming streams. COVID-19 has shifted the goalposts this year but they are planning to go ahead with the SALON in Wagga Wagga alongside Artstate on Thursday November 5, 2020.

Selected artists and producers present pitches of up to 5 minutes each. These pitches may be tour ready work, works in development and ideas looking for partnerships.

Pitches can be from all genres of the performing arts and from productions looking to tour to both metro and regional venues, large and small in 2021 and beyond.

Alongside artists and producers, selected presenters (venues) will pitch their organisation: their programming aspirations and approaches, their audiences, capacity and partnership opportunities.

Perhaps the Community and Village Halls of Junee Shire might like to submit a combined EOI to promote our unique venues to potential artists and producers, as well as researching potential acts and performances that could hold events in our local halls.

Get involved — it’s free to attend.

EOIs for SALON 2020 in Wagga Wagga are now open but close on September 30, 2020.
