Free “Business Type” Job Trainer Courses available

Are you keen to get new skills to give you an introduction into your preferred job? Or, do you need to upskill to secure your current job?

For a limited time, the NSW Government is paying for you to complete a part-qualification in business type courses and Edmund Barton College has various courses that nationally accredited as “Nationally Recognised Training” and are respected by employers.

Many of these skills are also highly advantageous for Committee, Board Members and other volunteers of Not-for-Profit organisations!

Free Business Type Courses available

There are a number of business type courses currently available free of charge, online, through Edmund Barton College.

Some of the courses that could interest Committee, Board Members and other volunteers of Not-for-Profit organisations include:

    • Show leadership in the workplace
    • Implement operational plan
    • Lead team effectiveness
  2. Leadership Essentials
    • Show leadership in the workplace
    • Identify risk and apply risk management processes
  3. Marketing and Communication
    • Make a presentation
    • Articulate, present and debate ideas
    • Apply marketing communications across a convergent industry
    • Develop and apply knowledge of marketing communications industries
  4. Office Ready Skills
    • Organise Schedules
    • Deliver and monitor a service to customers
    • Design and produce spreadsheets
    • write simple documents
  5. Effective Spreadsheet Design
    • Design and produce spreadsheets
  6. Presentations and Scheduling
    • Organise schedules
    • Create electronic presentations
    • Design and produce digital text documents
  7. Digital Communication in the Workplace
    • Use digital technologies to communicate remotely
    • Design and produce digital text documents

Courses are provided online and you study at your own pace — although you must complete the course(s) by December 3, 2021.

Eligibility for Free Course

You must be

  • An Australian citizen, OR
  • a permanent resident, OR
  • a New Zealand resident, OR
  • on a VISA (only VISA subclass 200/201/202/203/204/866 are eligible)

AND you must

  • Have left Year 12 in 2020, OR
  • Currently be receiving a Government benefit (such as Job Seeker), OR
  • Expect that you will become unemployed (or need to upskill to keep your job), OR
  • Be currently unemployed, OR
  • Aged between 17-24

You can enrol in a single course, or multiple courses — You need to commence your course(s) before June 24, 2021 and be completed by December 3, 2021.
