As part of the NSW State Governments drought funding package, Temora Shire Council is working with TAFE NSW to deliver a range of fully subsidised training courses, including Traffic Control Training.
These courses are open to all, however preference will be given to those who have been impacted by the drought.
The Traffic Control Training will be held over 3-days and will deliver:
- Communicate in the Workplace (RIICOM201D)
- Control Traffic with a Stop-Slow Bat (RIIWHS205D)
- Implement Traffic Management Plan (RIIWHS302D), and
- Work Safely and Follow WHS Policies & Procedures (RIIWHS201D).
This training could be extremely beneficial for any organisation that needs to manage traffic flow at local events or festivals (eg JBT’s Christmas on Broadway, Rhythm n Rail, Junee and Illabo Shows, Illabo Speedway events, Junee Harness Racing etc). It would be wonderful if Junee had a pool of local, volunteer, traffic controllers to assist at our local events —- it could also lead to employment opportunities!
There are a minimum of 10 participants required for this training to proceed. Priority will be given to residents of Temora Shire, but residents of Junee Shire are welcome to register.
Participants must meet the NSW Smart & Skilled (S&S) Eligibility Criteria as follows:
- 15 years and over
- No longer at school
- Live or work in NSW
- Australian Citizen
